Hallo, also die meisten Flash-Chips können den Speicher nicht behalten, wenn sie für sechs Monate bis ein Jahr ausgeschaltet bleiben (Quelle ist, dass ich in der Lagerung speziell mit Flash arbeiten).

Gibt es irgendwelche Informationen darüber, wie lange die Nano-Ledger ausgeschaltet bleiben können und dann immer noch mit den zuvor gespeicherten Schlüsseln funktionieren?

Edit: Der Konsens ist, dass es keine Rolle spielt. Eine Hardcopy des Seeds ist ein Muss und man sollte nicht in Erwägung ziehen, eine Hardware-Wallet als Backup zu verwenden. Selbst wenn der Flash-Speicher über Jahre hinweg stabil bleibt, kann es eine Vielzahl von Gründen geben, warum die Hardware in kurzen Zeiträumen unerwartet ausfallen kann.

Obwohl die Frage nach der mittleren Ausfallzeit des Flashs im ausgeschalteten Zustand nicht beantwortet ist, akzeptiere ich dies als gelöst.

Apromximmatley 420,069 days. Which converts to roughly 1,150 years or about the life span of roughly 191 pigeons. Not living at the same time but like, back to back. 191 consecutive pigeon lifetimes.

Source: trust me bro. I’ve been dealing with pigeons for a long time.

All jokes aside I don’t think they do. Battery could go out or could just kick the bucket. As long as you have your recovery phrase you cam restore to a different wallet. Even if the company goes under you can restore to another wallet.

Run 2 ledgers with the same seed in parallel. Change between every 4-5 months.

-If there’s a firmware upgrade issue your covered.

-If there’s a hardware issue ,ie screen pixels, button fails, battery leak, etc. your covered.

Then replace that one that fails, your only needing to expose your physical seed list to recover entering on the new one) **Because worse case your seed sheet is lost, eaten by worms, water damaged , faded ink , you have a backup ledger to move your funds to a new 24 word seed you can create on the replacement**
