Gast::Your all BTC keys are derived from your seed. So they are already there like infinite digits of Pi number, but your casual wallet app only keeps revealing the next address once your previous address gets used because of security, anonymity and noob-proof reasons. You can still send funds to your previous addresses, all of them can be controlled by you because your „seed“ is the master key that generates sub-keys for every derived BTC address.
You don’t need a private key to see your next address to generate. Ledger Live app holds the xpub address (master public address key) generated from your seed so, xpub generates infinite bitcoin addresses tied to your seed without needing your private key.
As an example while you have only used (generated) 10 BTC addresses within Ledger live, you can manually generate your 516th bitcoin address from your xpub and send funds into it. Once you try to withdraw it’s funds while your ledger plugged in, it will work. Probably Ledger Live will not detect the 516th address until all 515 addresses gets used but, probably Electrum will detect it. I know Ledger Live doesn’t detect additional derived ETH addresses with balance if previous ETH address’s history is empty. Because of that, don’t play games like this unless you know what you are doing.
Verifying BTC address on your Ledger screen protects you from computer viruses that changes the public address you see on your wallet app. Virus makes it show the hacker’s public address so you send funds to them. If the new deposit address you see in your Ledger Live is different than your ledger’s screen while you are verifying, immediately wipe your PC and get a clean setup.

Gast::Hey – when you choose to „Reveal your address without verifying“ on Ledger Live, it generates a new address for Bitcoin and Bitcoin-based crypto assets.
This is because these blockchains are public networks and for optimal privacy, the addresses should generally not be re-used after a transaction. Ledger Live automatically generates new addresses using standards (BIP32/BIP39/BIP44) and keeps track of your previous ones.
However, the private keys are not stored outside of the device. The addresses are derived from your device’s extended public key (xpub). This xpub allows Ledger Live to generate new addresses that belong to the same account, without exposing your private keys.

Gast::Checking the address on the ledger screen also has the advantage of checkjng that the account you want to deposit to is derived from your current seed (seed = recovery phrase + optional passphrase)
If you added or changed your bip39 passphrase (or changed your recovery phrase) and did not create new accounts after doing that , it would warn you that the account you want to deposit on is in fact not controlled by your current seed, so you wont be able to send fund from that account (unless you rest9re your old seed or passphrase).
