Was mache ich falsch?

Just never change the gas limit. It should be 21000 for ETH transfers. If you change it to a lower value, your Tx WILL fail and you will lose some gas.

Do no change the gas price, leave it the default, unless you know what you are doing. Increasing it will make your transaction execute faster.

Current gas price can be seen at the top of [etherscan.io](https://etherscan.io) (on desktop). Make sure gas price in your transaction is at least this value.

If you put in too low of a gas price, your transaction wouldn’t just fail outright like you’re describing, it would just sit there in a Pending state for something like 24 hours and then eventually fail. Is it sitting there Pending forever and then eventually failing, like a day or 2 later?

If it’s failing immediately, the likely explanation is that 1 ETH + gas calculates out to more ETH than is presently in your account. So like, if you have exactly 1 ETH in that account, you won’t be able to send 1 ETH to Gemini. You need to send something like 0.98ETH to accommodate for gas. The „Send Max“ slider thing in Ledger Live should do this math for you if you’re trying to send all of your funds out at once.

If you have sufficient funds to cover the transfer amount plus gas…you aren’t messing with the Gas Limit amount are you?

This is why I stopped using Ethereum, it has too many problems and it’s hard to see it having a good future at this point.

This is so pathetic this happens with the ethereum blockchain. Lol This would literally *never* in a hundred million years ever happen on the BTC blockchain or the XRP ledger. 😑

Well, I can’t say I am pleased with Ledger not letting me transfer the full $40,400 of LTCGs for sale at a 0% tax rate, but I guess 36k will have to do. All the tax planning goes right out the window with $40.00 in failed transactions and there is not a damned thing I can do about it. At least I got most of the „hidden“ benefit and also by using wash sales stepped up my basis(s) higher for next years gains (fingers crossed). I do feel cheated though, why the hassle of such a simple exercise?

FWIW, your $10.00 donations, although very generous of you, but they don’t go to miners – ETH developers burn them!

Apparently, after years of service keeping their blockchain to where it is today, their developers no longer care about miners.

I am no expert, but I think you have to have nough Eth in Gemini to pay the miners fees, just a thought.
