Was sind Ihre Gedanken?

Gast::Never.
Because call it useless if you want, but security by obscurity is still a thing. I prefer people not knowing I have this, so it’s better hidden at home.
Furthermore, if I really feel the need of having a Ledger with me, it’d be a ledger with few funds.
PIN code is not the extreme security, and I’m not really fancy of the wrench key cryptography attack.

Gast::I only carry them when travelling. Otherwise there is no point, unless you want to use them wherever you are.
Your crypto is not stored in your ledger, so if someone steals your ledger, they cannot have access (unless you wrote your PIN on your ledger).
So from a security point of view, carrying the ledger with you makes no sense.

Gast::When I first got into crypto, I used to wear my ledger around my neck when I went to work. But now I have realized that it’s stupid because nobody cares anyway, plus, I was risking a device malfunction from the rare times, the ledger was against my sweaty skin.
This is why Ledger puts out different colors. I bought one with my daughter’s favorite color, just so she can put it in the drawer. Just think about it. Why would you even care what color your ledger is if you don’t want anybody to see you wearing it.
I’d rather ledger put out devices with bulletproof screens. They can be dull gray for all I care.

Gast::It seems like most of y’all ain’t actually answering this guy’s question. Instead, you’re throwing alternative explanations at him. Now, if I’m getting him right, he wants to know about mobility. We’re talking about how to safely carry that Ledger hard wallet and/ or find a solid method for transacting crypto on a hot wallet app.
Now, personally, I don’t carry my Ledger X around everywhere. That thing’s shape just ain’t practical for me, and I don’t wanna risk damaging it. Ledger devices ain’t exactly built to handle the rough and tumble of daily life, you feel me? So, when it comes to my crypto needs on the go, I turn to Uphold. Covers about 75% of everything crypto for me. My Ledger? It stays put at home, serving as my trusty physical crypto vault.
Now, sure, I got accounts with almost every American exchange out there. But truth be told, I rarely use any of ‚em. Why? ‚Cause they straight up suck at layer bridging between different crypto assets. And let me tell ya, I’m still learning the ropes on that myself.
So, here’s my advice: have a separate wallet as your daily driver. Find one that suits your needs and move only what you need onto that Ledger of yours. That way, you’re keeping your crypto secure while still being able to handle your day-to-day transactions.

Gast::Hey – While it’s possible to carry your Ledger device with you, it’s generally recommended to keep it in a secure location when not in use. Ledger devices like the Nano S Plus or X are designed to safeguard your private keys offline, providing an added layer of security against potential online threats. For everyday transactions, you might consider using a hot wallet on your phone with a smaller amount of funds, as you suggested.
This can provide a balance between convenience and security. However, remember that hot wallets are more vulnerable to online attacks. For the majority of your funds, keeping them on your Ledger device stored in a secure location is a good practice. This way, even if your hot wallet is compromised, your main assets remain safe.
Remember, the security of your crypto assets is paramount, and how you manage them should reflect that. For more information on hot and cold wallets, you can visit: https://www.ledger.com/academy/topics/security/hot-wallet-vs-cold-crypto-wallet-whats-the-difference.
