      Hallo,

      Vielen Dank!

      > Do I have to create my accounts in Ledger Live or not?

      no, you don’t.

you can use a number of other front-ends that are capable of connecting to the ledger device, depending on the crypto accounts you want to „create“. e.g. Electrum for BTC etc

Note: you should never enter your seed phrase in anything else than a hardware wallet, and you should ignore all DMs, they are scammers impersonating ledger support.

Hello, so to better clarify and add to the helpful comments, when you set up your Ledger device with Ledger Live, you will first set-up PIN, then generate your 24 words recovery phrase from device’s screen, and then establish a genuine check connection: [https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018784134-Set-up-your-Ledger-Nano-X?docs=true](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018784134-Set-up-your-Ledger-Nano-X?docs=true)

After this, you can install the apps of the crypto’s you would like to secure their private keys: [https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404382258961-Install-uninstall-and-update-apps?docs=true](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404382258961-Install-uninstall-and-update-apps?docs=true)
and add respective accounts manually for them. This way you will be able to generate the receive address for this specific account and then send the funds to it: [https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404389482641-Add-your-accounts?docs=true](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404389482641-Add-your-accounts?docs=true)

      Hope this better clarifies

It depends on your needs. If you want to open a new one, then open it. If you want to use an existing one then use the one you need.

Ledger Live is just a frontend. You don’t need to use that (except update the hardware)

1st, you need to setup your device and add token apps inside the device. Ledger Live is required for these steps. Other than that, Ledger Live’s account screen is just an interface to control your generated wallet keys. A wallet application that made by Ledger. You can either use Metamask, or Ledger Live to control your ETH addresses for example.
