0x5509867eeda290663cc809ab1f0471781615616eca30a5dd270f237b6bea4ad4

unauthorized transactions = you somehow leaked your seed phrase.

      Doesn’t add up.

If someone was to steal the eth why break it up into 9 different txs?

What sites have you connected the ledger too?

Also it could be that your metamask is corrupted.

      >but kept getting a transaction failure

Did it by chance fail 9 or more times?

Where did you buy the ledger from?

With all due respect, there are no conspiracy theories regarding Ledger or any hardware wallet. If unauthorized transactions have occurred, the most likely cause is that the seed phrase was compromised. There is no other plausible explanation for such incidents, so claiming ignorance stating you didn’t personally leak the seed somehow would not change anything. Remove any funds left and reset your device and move on while learning how to properly secure you device and seed phase.

Looking at the transactions it seems your mnemonic was compromised somehow – maybe you had a digital copy ? maybe you downloaded a fake version of Ledger Live asking you to enter it once ? maybe you used it on a different (software) wallet once ?

In any case the funds are lost and the other address seems active, so I’d suggest to file a police complaint and investigate through Sellix where your assets have been spent

      Interesting situation
I also believe your seed was somehow compromised. If it was fully offline and only stored in your Ledger device, it means the transactions had to be confirmed with your Ledger device

Hey – Loss of funds is always a difficult conversation and we are sorry to hear that you are in this situation.

The only two ways you could lose funds are:
      – if you compromise your 24 words, then all funds are at risk
      – if you sign a smart contract that holds malicious intent, then the address is at risk

Please review our help desk article below that will provide more info on what could have happened and the next steps you can take:

Meta mask has more holes when Swiss cheese there is your answer also kinda
Defeats the purpose of cold storage when you connect it to your meta mask

Makes sense that they would use small transactions to empty a compromised device.
Simply because once you know it works then you know you’re in a compromised account
