Ledger Update: Kein Desktop/Laptop

Frohes neues Jahr für alle,

Ich bin gerade in ein kleines Dilemma geraten. Ich habe eigentlich keinen Desktop/Laptop, auf dem Windows usw. läuft, so dass ich derzeit nicht in der Lage bin, Ledger Live Desktop herunterzuladen, um das Nano S/X-Firmware-Update durchzuführen.

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, dies zu umgehen, um die Firmware zu aktualisieren? Plant Ledger, das Firmware-Update in nächster Zeit über Android/Apple-Apps zu verteilen? Wird mein Nano S/X nicht mehr funktionieren, wenn ich die Firmware nicht aktualisiere (einige Funktionen funktionieren bereits nicht mehr)?

Firmware update over Bluetooth isn’t supported because of a number of factors – instability of the connection, ability for people to accidentally close the app during and brick their ledger, etc. so I doubt that will ever be implemented.

The firmware on your device should be viable for at least a few years even though I know ledger has a shaky track record. But the good news is that firmware updates are explicitly checksummed on-device and it would be pretty difficult to load malicious firmware into a ledger via virus. If you can find a reasonably-secure windows computer for 15 minutes (borrow a friend’s/co-worker’s? Use the library?) in the next two years you should be fine
