Sounds like the dreaded “Battery Cannot Charge” error.

I had it recently too. Took 3 days of trial and error to get it to work. I first left it plugged in for 24 hours. Came back and nothing. Same error. So then read the official Ledger help that said to go to control centre and select Power Off while it’s plugged in, then leave it for a day. Tried that and still nothing. 3rd day I just started messing around with it, plugging/unplugging the cable, recycling the power with the “Power Off” option over and over. Holding the two buttons to attempt to power it on while unplugged even though it was dead (hoping to just “trigger” the battery). I was about to give up until I plugged it in again and the battery symbol appeared. Charged overnight and all seems fine again now.

Now, I’m not sure what actually fixed it in the end. But a mix of plugging it in until the error appears, unplugging it again, holding the two power buttons to attempt to power cycle it, plugging it back in, repeatedly selecting “Power Off” while plugged in, plugging and unplugging the cable rapidly…. I don’t know but give it a try. It’s frustrating for sure, I had already accepted it was a goner and I’d need a new one.

Hey – orry to hear about the issues you’re experiencing with your Ledger device. It seems like you might be dealing with a battery issue. If your device is a Ledger Nano X, it has a built-in battery that may need troubleshooting.

You can try connecting your device to a wall charger or computer and let it charge for several hours. If the device is still not working, it might be in „Booting“ mode. In this case, you’ll need to wait until the Booting percentage reaches 100%, which may also take several hours.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, then you can request a replacement directly form our website. This article will guide you with the steps.
