Ich habe ein Ledger von ihrem Shop auf Amazon US gekauft (der 12k Bewertungen hat). Ich habe es weniger als 12 Stunden später erhalten.

Alles ist in Ordnung, nur das Faltblatt fehlt. Stattdessen gibt es eine Karte mit der Aufschrift „Erste Schritte“.

Außerdem zeigt das Einrichtungsvideo auf der Ledger-Website, dass man bei der Ersteinrichtung des Nano S beide Knöpfe auf „Als neues Gerät konfigurieren“ drücken muss, während mein Gerät „Als neues Gerät einrichten“ sagt. Und im Video wird gezeigt, dass das Gerät einen 4-stelligen Pin hat, während mein Gerät mir erlaubt, einen 8-stelligen Pin einzustellen.

Just make sure there are no seed phrases already written and check the unit to make sure it doesn’t look tampered with. Make sure you go to the real ledger site and download the legit software. You will never have to input the seed on any website or even ledgers software, only on the physical unit. If it’s real you won’t have any issues. If you are really concerned you could pop the unit open and just compare the board to pics online to see if it’s legit.

The Ledger website is out of date with some of its instructions. For example, the PIN: Early versions of the firmware only allowed for a 4 digit PIN, but by now (for quite a while even) you can use anything from 4 to 8 digits.

When you connect the device to a computer and run Ledger Live, it will perform an integrity check on the firmware. If it’s not a legitimate device, it’ll tell you at that point.

If Ledger Live works with it, it’s legit.

Now, after setting up your 8# pin, set up a 2nd 8# pin and a password (25th word). This creates a 2nd wallet that can only be recovered if you have the 24word seedphrase plus the password you created.
