Und was würden Sie tun?“

You just purchased a common piece of hardware, why do you expect its warranty to work differently from any other piece of hardware?

If you need to move your assets during those two weeks, you just purchase a second hardware wallet first like everyone else does.

Fix the Nano yourself. I guarantee you that after you open it up and just slightly push up the battery contacts and then put it back together again it will start working .
There are videos on YouTube showing how to do it

Well, you have the seedphrase, and in case you want to send your funds to an exchange to sell, you cand use any other wallet…

My Ledger had a problem right out of the box and I put my foot down with them and insisted they sent out a new one and a returns envelope for the faulty one. Which they did. Just push their support team further on this and you might get the same result. You can then set up your new Ledger with the seed phrase and factory reset the faulty one without fear of losing anything or being compromised.

This happened to me on 3 different nano x’s and they sent me a replacement each time without sending it back them

Customer service was helpful but honestly, ledger is a bad product

Just order a trezor and transfer all of your assets to that, then just reset and return the ledger after

It’s just a loose connection issue on your ledger, I fixed myself following a YouTube tutorial, better than waiting for months and paying the shipping hehe

Also if the device hasn’t been touched in like a year and some change the lithium ion battery likely will never take a charge again

Users are by no means obligated to use Ledger hardware devices to custody their assets.

We at Ledger create the hardware that allows you to generate your own [24 word recovery phrase(s)](https://www.ledger.com/academy/crypto/what-is-a-recovery-phrase) in a secure offline manner, and self custody your assets. Beyond that point, the responsibility is in the hands of the user and making sure their 24 word recovery phrase is written down and safely stored.

Importantly, as long as you have your 24 word recovery phrase, you can [restore](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404382560913-Restore-your-Ledger-accounts-with-your-recovery-phrase?support=true) your assets using any BIP39-compliant wallet, whether it be another hardware wallet or a software wallet – ***however this is not advised – as it can put your funds at risk, especially with software wallets, because you end up exposing your private key to the internet.***

Effectively, this means that ***you’re always in custody of your assets***, you’re just protecting them using your 24 word recovery phrase, generated by your Ledger – and during that 2 week period, you’ll still have self-custody and Ledger-based security regarding your assets – you just need to keep your recovery phrase safe.

If you’re feeling like you want to err on the side of caution, you’re always free to reset your Ledger (as many times as you’d like as well) prior to sending it back to us for a replacement device. It’s really all up to user preference, not to worry!

You can try messing with the Battery Saver settings, I had an issue with my battery at one point and I was able to fix it by doing that

Did you happen to express this concern to the Ledger support person you were working with? Depending on your situation there might be some flexibility here.
