Don’t use it. I had all my life’s savings in the Ledger Nano. Someone stole them all and ledger keep saying it’s the wrong recovery key, but it isn’t . They looted 300000 people who have gone through the same .

Thing with batteries is they hate to be left with no charge. Overtime the battery depletes and as it depletes once it gets empty that’s when long term battery storage is a problem because than battery dies and may not hold a charge the longer it’s kept like that

I personally advise keeping the ledger at 60-80% charge and checking on it monthly.

Solution however would be to get a portable power bank connect a usb to it to lower the ledger x than use Bluetooth like normal

Sounds to me you’d get this issue for anything you buy abroad that has some sort of issue. In the UK you can specify an item that’s being returned & replaced to avoid this.

Why would you have to pay duties again if it’s being replaced under warranty? Surely your country has a way to reclaim duties paid for things like warranty service. Equipment of all kinds have to be shipped internationally for service all the time.

I own both nano x and s (year+) never had charging issues. Then again I only have them connected when I actually have the need to use them other than that I never keep them connected/charging for hrs/days. I have traveled with them to other countries still working fine.

You can’t blame the import tax on ledger but I do agree that ledgers die way to easy from the heat I’ve been through 3

It’s a replacement, not a new sale. You shouldn’t be paying import fees twice (unless your government is totally shit).

I had to pay 50% import tax in my country too, it is our Government not ledgers fault. But yes they should refund you and I’m pretty sure you don’t have to pay import tax again if you do it through the right procedure. Maybe ask them not to bill the second time 🤔 idk research or ask them

If they know very well that the battery can die, they should assume and instruct the customer very well about the precautions, making it clear that this can happen and the customer can then decide whether to buy it or not, since he will need to take care of the health of the battery

That’s unfortunate but you should have gone through a local reseller https://www.ledger.com/reseller – this is an issue for all goods imported to Brazil

The battery is a problem sooner or later. Also, I don’t like the idea of bluetooth. So I have NanoS and NanoS + which I ordered from trusted company distributors in my country. They arrived next day with free shipping and gifts. I couldn’t wait more than one month with direct order from the site. I’m sorry for your unpleasant experience but you have to look at all options when doing things that are expensive.

Kinda a known problem w the NanoX yeh? I recall looking at reviews years ago, this was a thing then. Regardless, if you had gotten a flawless one the battery is a point of failure in the end.

Instead of replacing ledger with someone else it may be easier to just move to a new country lol

I’ve got the same problem. If you rarely charge your device the battery just dies. Imo very bad. So the whole bluetooth connection feature became totally useless. I hope the new stax model has a better quality.

The thing is ledger has still the most support from third party apps. And the product is good but there is many space for improvements.

A big flaw is the communication strategy. That’s a desaster.

Understand the frustration but doesn’t it still work with a dead battery when you plug in the cable (just like the older Nano S)? I know, this is not what you paid for but since it’s impractical to send it back and you probably won’t be able to sell a used Ledger, maybe try to make the best out of it?

Not really Ledger fault. Aside the battery issue it looks completely dumb to me to know you will pay huge amount of taxes, but still decide to buy it, then complain about the import taxes.. Just buy something els?

Ledger is a French’s company they probably ship from Europe. Maybe try an USA based product, maybe the taxes will be lower.

Not to mention your keys can be siphoned off the device via firmware updates despite them originally saying it was impossible.

Now Ledger is saying to me through the support that is very risky to use the device with dead battery. It could stop to work at all suddenly.
