In Bitcoin chain, after every deposit to a new address, another new address will be derived from your seed. You can still send bitcoins to your old addresses and withdraw them back. But for security / anonimity, continue using those new fresh addresses.

The Bitcoin address is ALWAYS different. Every time you use ledger to receive funds. For privacy . I thought it was an issue too at first. As long as the address fully (check the whole address not just the beginning and end bits) matches what’s on the device then you’re golden.

For BTC and all other UTXO cryptos e.g. LTC, DOGE, the account is defined by its xpub address, since each UTXO account has multiple addresses the xpub address is unique.

You can see the xpub in ledger live > account > wrench icon > advanced.

Note: Xpub = extended public address

Changes periodically for me, just send small increments at first to make sure it works, hasn’t failed me once.

You can always choose to send and receive to that one bitcoin address generated by your ledger. For me I use this method since I whitelisted this address to all the exchanges I’m using so that I wont need to copy and paste every time (whitelisting is one way to avoid address poisoning). Just be vigilant to always check the correctness. One can never be lenient when it comes to crypto.

Hey, as mentioned by the helpful comments, the BTC address changes every time you receive BTC, you can indeed keep using the same address, but it will defeat the privacy feature purpose!

Bitcoin accounts have multiple addresses. So it is all normal. You should see the correct balance.
