      Hallo,

You retrieve it via re-entering your seed phrase, which of course you wrote down and kept safe when you followed the Ledger setup instructions.

The whole idea of a cold wallet is, to make that impossible.

No way to retrieve it. No, there is no tools to do so. Don’t know the exact term, but they have must have some kind of storage to store private key there and entering 3 times wrong pin code will wipe that storage.

If you’re asking if the 24 word seed is recoverable from the ledger device itself the answer is no. This is a security feature.

Oh definitely, ledger keeps a backup of everybody’s key just in case. There definitely wouldn’t be anything wrong with a single company potentially controlling everyone’s Bitcoin. /s

If you’re the FBI and have access to the cutting-edge of electron microscopes and physical devices, you *might* be able to recover *some* data in the first eight or so hours from deletion.

      Otherwise, it’s gone.

Nobody would buy a Ledger if it were possible to retrieve the private key after being reset, or if Ledger themselves had the capability of retrieving a previous private key.

In addition to the other replies which have answered you, I just want to add that even if your Ledger *isn’t* reset you can’t retrieve the key or seed phrase either.

As many others have pointed out, no, fortunately there is no way to do that.

That would be a massive security flaw.

All you need is your key phrase that you wrote down on the piece of paper when you set the whole thing up. That’s your method for recovery.

If you no longer have access to that key phrase then you’ll need to create a new wallet.

Not that I know of. Burn them into your brain. 24 words of a mantra I repeat in my mind over and over every day.

Your key is your seed phrase!!!

You are supposed to keep a safe backup copy of it. Ledger does not have any access to your keys.
