Hallo, morgen früh werde ich versuchen, meinen Ledger mit meinem metamask-Konto zu verbinden. Ich habe jedoch nur Bitcoin auf dem Schlüssel und ich habe gesehen, dass Bitcoin auf metamask nicht unterstützt wird – wird es automatisch gegen WBTC getauscht, wenn es mit meiner metamask Wallet verbunden wird? Kann ich ihn gegen eine beliebige Kryptowährung austauschen lassen? Gibt es etwas, das ich vor dem Anschluss tun muss? Für jede Hilfe wäre ich sehr dankbar! Ich danke Ihnen

Not sure why you would want BTC (well, WBTC) in your Metamask wallet? Metamask is not meant for BTC.

Better to buy some ETH or something from a layer 2 chain, and send it over to your Metamask wallet.

Having said that, I am of the opinion that BTC matters more than everything else in the long run.

If you connect your ledger to metamask your bitcoin will not automatically be swapped for wbtc

Nope. BTC and wBTC are two entirely different chains and cannot communicate with each other in any way. wBTC is simply an ethereum token that is pegged to BTC’s value.

The easiest option you have is to transfer your BTC to a centralized exchange like Binance or coinbase and sell off your BTC and then buy wBTC.

There are also some bridge protocols out there but my first solution is easier and safer.
