See the „check backup“ instructions here:

If you have Trezor One then use advanced recovery mode, by the way.

Just do a dry run recovery it’s easy go to the device settings on the Trezor and click check backup or backup run and it will prompt you to put the words in a mixed order from what ur Trezor device says

What ever you do , only type your seed phrase on the device itself. Never type it on the computer-
      That is the way!!

When I was a newcomer and inexperienced, I wondered the same thing.

Here’s what I did: I bought a second hardware wallet and used the restore option to enter my seed words into the new device. As much as it seemed like a waste of money to buy another device, it felt so good being able to reassure myself by proving I could restore my seed on a new wallet. Peace of mind is worth its weight in gold!

If you do decide to buy a second device, buy a SeedSigner. You’ll have your Trezor as your main hardware wallet, and your SeedSigner as a device to learn and experiment with. SeedSigner is fully open source, and it’s a fantastic project. You can build it yourself or buy an assembled kit. Another good device is a Blockstream Jade.

Sure, if you still haven’t tranfered any funds to that wallet reset the trezor, and when it asks whether you want to create a new one or recover a previous one, use your seed. That way you will check if you could recover it risk-free.

as soon as you write then down, you should have restored the wallet immediately using those words as a test, it has a checksum word on the end so if the restore works you’ve more than likely got the words written down correctly and entered them correctly a second time. bonus point if you can write down a receive address and recognise that same address on the restore, but that can be tricky (account based blockchains like ethereum are good to check against)

best option right now might be to get a second hardware wallet, maybe the cheapest version, and use your words to restore to that wallet, and it should load accounts that match your original hardware wallet.

edit: apparently there are options on your hardware wallet already to check the backup?
