Gast::When you send funds from an exchange to an address or account that you control – this information is public and available to potential observers via block explorers (and a history of all of this is recorded on the blockchain).
With this in mind, you can see both the **to** and **from** addresses – and so the destination and origin are clear – however blockchain technology also provides pseudonymity, and so there is no way to definitively tie an address or account to a singular individual (without supplementary information being provided).
If you take this into account, you can send and receive crypto to your Ledger and there isn’t necessarily any concrete, discernible way to connect your identity to your receiving addresses or accounts.
In the case that you’re planning to sell **from** your Ledger **to** an exchange, your information and level of privacy will be just as secure as it was before (only your exchange has your KYC/AML information in most cases – and even then, they don’t know you’re necessarily sending funds to another one of *your* accounts or addresses).

Gast::Here, I found the video where it was said that it’s not a concern as long as you only send to your wallet and not send out of your wallet so both keys are exposed. Hear for yourself it’s at 34:40 min. I really don’t know what to do with this information…

Gast::What do you mean by „safe“? That it can be identified that you are the owner of the address you sent it from?
It’s pretty easy to tie your identity to the wallets you use one day. You said you already sent some crypto from the exchange to your wallet, so what difference does it make to send it from the wallet to the exchange? There is already a link between your exchange account and the wallet.
Now, in the case of some crypto networks, like Bitcoin, you can generate new receive addresses, and also your „change“ is received on a new address, so the address you send from could be different each time.
But in the case of something like ETH, your address never changes, so you just need to live with the awareness of that.
