In this case, because you’re sending to a BTC address, you’re ideally wanting to store your BTC as Bitcoin, on the *Bitcoin* network/blockchain – as opposed to the Tron network (however this is up to user preference and intended use).

With respect to Bitcoin and its native network, if you’re withdrawing your BTC to a BTC generated address from your Ledger – and you want everything to be consistent between the asset type and the network it’s on – you’ll want to choose the BTC network (to keep your Bitcoin on the Bitcoin network, in a Bitcoin account).

The low fees on TRX comes with a counterpart: You don’t get a BTC, you get a token which is a BTC IOU, governed by a smart contract, therefore there are risk involved (bug in the contract etc).

If you think the risks are worth the $22 saving, it’s all good. Personally I would use the TRX option only for very small amount of BTC e.g. less than 0.1 or 0.05 BTC.

only use another network if you plan to not hold the btc yourself for very long. if you just want to move it from point A to B but not keep it inside your own wallet. Or if you were moving between exchanges for example. or moving it to a dex.. something where you were not intending to HODL because all you are getting when you move it on TRX is an IOU.

If you want to keep the BTC yourself you will have to pay the fee later to move it off of the TRX network and onto the BTC network.

Depends on what you want to do with it.

BTW, if you want to move BTC fast with nil fees, use lightning.

If you send to another network apart from BTC you’ll need those tokens as gas fees. Select BTC to be safe not make mistakes

If you send it to a tron address, it is effectively wrapped bitcoin. It’s ok for short-term storage, but if you want to hold for years, probably better to just send to the real btc network. If you do go with Tron, you need to first send 1 Tron to the Tron address to activate the Tron wallet. Otherwise your btc won’t show by itself.
