      > Am I able to setup the same passphrase on the second ledger device?

      of course yes.

there is no quantum „spooky interaction“ between ledger devices.

i.e. each ledger device has no idea if you own other ledger devices, and if you do, it has no idea if you entered the same seed and / or bip39 passphrase in them.

Note that the PIN are only used to unlock the device, and they have no effect on the accounts / addresses generated by the seed and passphrase used on the device. So you can have 2 ledgers with the same seed phrase and passphrase, and different PINs, and they both will give you the same access to your accounts.

Long story short: I did this (mainly as a recovery check before sending too much to the passphrase accounts) and it worked.

Yep u can use the same passphrase as long as it’s associated with that same recovery phrase. I like to use the temporary ones

As long as your 24 word recovery phrase from your first device is being used by your second device (the newer device), you can enter the same passphrase from before and the same accounts will appear.

This is because they’re generated from the same original recovery phrase and you’re just adding that passphrase on top of it to access those passphrase-associated accounts (versus your separate, 24 word recovery phrase-associated accounts).

This is also why I personally like to set up temporary passphrases. With this in mind, each time I want to access a particular passphrase-protected account, I just go into the settings of my Ledger, enter the particular passphrase for that account, and I now have access to that account.

I would suggest practicing this setup with small amounts of funds first so that you know you’re comfortable with it before doing any serious funding.

Additionally, you can set up a PIN-specific passphrase, however this process is a bit different (we have more info on this, [here](https://www.ledger.com/academy/passphrase-an-advanced-security-feature)).

Yea, you can. The seed phrase is merely a key. You can key a door, in this case a ledger wallet to match. All that the seed phrase is, is a means of recovery, you can also use it to establish a secondary or as many as you want.

Never show or share the seed phrase to anyone and never input it anywhere.

Just a point to note, are you using the temporary passphrase feature on Ledger or the permanent one? Because the passphrase is generally is of no use if you are using the permanent passphrase on your Ledger device.
