I’m no pro so not sure about number 4 either but the rest will work and is a good idea. You will have to install the apps you need on the new ledger and create accounts for them in the new ledger live as well. They won’t just pop up in the new ledger live until you do that. Having a backup ledger is important in my opinion. In case you don’t know, you can easily just test your seed phrase is written correct on your current ledger with an app on ledger live. Search in ledger live in the apps. I think it is called “recovery check”. You install it and run it on the device and it lets you enter your written seed and verify it is correct. Whenever I mention this people go ape crap it’s scammy sounding but it’s an app from ledger in ledger live! You can research it if people start commenting. It was one of the first things I did at setup.

That is enough. Restore wallet on new device and load up Ledger live. Your funds should be there.

fwiw, I just plugged in a nano s from 2 years back and the device would not load correctly. I restored from my 24 word and ledger live kept scanning the device as non-genuine and refused to register. After inputting the 24 seed in three different times, I gave up. I purchased direct from ledger and it worked fine before putting it into storage.

I ended up loading the phrase in a digital wallet to pull the coins and that will be the last time I use anything from Ledger. I couldn’t imagine trying to use their devices 5+ years in the future (if they’re still around) for something I was storing for safe keeping.
