hey, yeah I have imported my ledger seed into some other wallets, here’s my experience, [https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/qhj5zx/successfully_restored_seed_of_failed_ledger_nano/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/qhj5zx/successfully_restored_seed_of_failed_ledger_nano/)

Keep cold wallet cold. Don’t put your seed phrase anywhere near a hot wallet. Since the ledger debacle, I ordered and easily integrated my original seed phrase: Safepal S1, Keystone Pro (Gen 2), OneKey Touch. I’m still not sure which one I like the most, but they all have their pros and cons and I get to access most of my coins/tokens.

I wouldn’t use my seed in hot wallet personally. Keep it all ledger centric.

Never use the ledger software except when I need to for updates.

I’m mostly using wallets for Cardano and have a good experience with that. Never hand an issue with hooking the wallets up to the ledger device. I’m using two, sometimes three different wallet softwares and it’s all good.

Yes of course, since Ledger uses BIP39 Standard to generate private keys from your seed phrase, you can use it with any hardware/software wallet that uses the same algo (actually it is pretty common). You can find more info here: https://www.ledger.com/academy/bip-39-the-low-key-guardian-of-your-crypto-freedom

I tried trust wallet, coinomi and safepal hot wallets.
They all support all my coins, but for some reasons I won’t see my funds. For ex: Using safepal I can only see Eth, but not Dot. Safepal supports Dot. Also, I could only see Dot balance in Trust wallet, even though it also supoorts eth too..
I might be doing something wrong..

you can use your ledger to create a seed and then use that seed in any software wallet that will accept 24 words. not tried it with a 25th word/pass phrase. generally it will just work, sometimes you have to choose the correct ‚path‘ to get your wallets to appear, like ETH and BTC, and NANO and DIGIBYTE weren’t seamless, some wallets do them differently.
