Not buy from a rando 3rd party. What is what you should have done better. Write your seed phrase on paper and put it in a place that you will find it later. Seed phrases should only be used to recover, do not give anyone your seed phrase.

I’m that extra bit paranoid when it comes to my seed phrase and divide it in half and hide in 2 different locations. Half is useless if anyone ever finds it

Why buy a used one?

After resetting the ledger, remove the account fron ledger live. This way you will create a new account rather than showing you the old account. This way you will know for sure that you restored with the proper seed ie the one that was used to create the account.

Once that is spun up, you can tell live (or, even better, Sparrow Wallet) to get its btc information (suggested transaction fees, tranaction confirms, etc.) from there, thus increasing your privacy. Mind you, that’s only for BTC, not any other coin you may want to associate with this seed phrase. For the other coins, you’ll most likely have to rely upon Ledger’s servers.

Always keep it safe and never share it with anyone.
